The meticulous task of a fully manual screenprinting process is used as an expression of the act of remembrance, pulling from personal memories of my biracial upbringing: racial and cultural trauma, grief, and death. My sense of cultural isolation carries into feelings of profound loss, a story abstractly depicted with motifs of nature inspired by my birthplace of Los Angeles and my Japanese heritage.
